Along with knowing the holiday calendar and processing dates for the upcoming year, here are some important payroll specific dates to remember:

  • The Payroll Deductions Online Calendar (PDOC) is updated January 1 and July 1
  • Individuals and sole proprietors must file their income tax returns by April 30
  • If self-employed, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) extends the filing deadline to June 15 but it begins accessing interest on your tax due on April 30
  • Whether filing GST/HST monthly or quarterly, the return and the payment are due one month after the end of the reporting period
  • New hires must complete a TD1 form within 7 days of being hired
  • T4 information slips must be sent to employees by the last day of February
